The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed in a crash in Lamont on Friday.

According to the CHP, the car driven by 22-year-old Saul Perez Monjaraz collided with a "solid block wall" moments after a hit-and-run in the area of Hall Road and Habecker Road on Friday night. The car ran into property before driving off and hitting the wall.

The CHP says the car's "engine was forced into the driver compartment and driver became trapped in the driver's compartment."

Monjaraz, of Arvin, died at the scene.

The CHP says he was not wearing a seat belt.
