Central Valley Correctional Facility to lay off 130 employees

MCFARLAND, Calif. — According to a notice released by GEO Secure Services, the company will be conducting a "mass layoff" at the Central Valley Correctional Facility in McFarland. Eighty-four corrections officers, as well as 46 administrative and program employees, are being affected.

In a letter sent to County Supervisor Mick Gleason, Christopher Ryan, Executive Vice President of Human Resources for GEO Group, Inc., stated that the "action is expected to be permanent" and that the layoffs are expected to take place on November 16, 2019.
