The Cedar fire has now burned 20,148 acres and is only 5% contained.
On Monday, crews were working against strong winds and lightning strikes and the fire spread quickly to areas like Wofford Heights.
Despite recommended evacuations, homeowners stayed behind and said they would only leave if the flames got closer.
Fire officials remind all residents that if a recommended evacuation order is made, it is probably the last warning they will make.
Crews are working around the clock to contain the fire and an acreage update is expected on Tuesday morning.
