Brush fire in the Eagle Rock section of Los Angeles threatening both sides of the 134 Freeway

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A brush fire in the Eagle Rock section of Los Angeles is threatening both sides of the 134 Freeway near the 2.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the flames can be spotted across to the north of the 134 Freeway and are slowly backing up hill.

Three LAFD helicopters are conducting continuous water drops. Firefighters are making good progress against the left flank of the fire with additional resources committing to the right flank.

There are not currently any evacuations in place nor a defined number of homes threatened. Glendale and LA County Fire both have resources on scene while LAFD remains Incident Command.

The 134 Freeway is closed WB at Figueroa and EB at Glendale. The 2 Freeway is closed SB at Mountain. Please follow CHP for all updates on road closures.

Over 143 LAFD firefighters on scene in addition to Glendale and LA County resources. This is a Major Emergency incident with no injuries reported.
