BPD looking for a Southwest Bakersfield Walmart robbery suspect

The Bakersfield Police Department is requesting assistance locating and identifying a robbery suspect.

According to police, on August 30, at approximately 7:45 p.m., a man entered the Walmart on Gosford Road and concealed several items of value in a backpack. 

Police said that when the suspect attempted to leave, he was confronted by an employee who tried to stop him. During the confrontation, the suspect assaulted the employee and fled the business.

The suspect is described as a Black man between 25 to 35 years old with a medium build. He had black hair and was wearing a gray/black shirt with basketball shorts and a gray/black baseball cap. The suspect also had a tattoo behind his left ear.
