BPD investigating alleged kidnap attempt at SW Bakersfield Walmart

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating an attempted kidnapping that reportedly happened Thursday night at a Walmart in Southwest Bakersfield.

BPD says on May 9 around 8:21 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Walmart at 5075 Gosford Road for an attempted kidnapping.

An early investigation revealed two men were walking past the alleged juvenile victim before making a comment towards him.

According to BPD, the alleged victim feared that the suspects were going to kidnap him. Police say that the suspects and alleged victim were in contact for less than two seconds before the suspects fled from the Walmart on foot.

BPD are describing the suspects as two Hispanic males in their 20's with average height and build.
