BPD: Lock-down lifted at Bessie E. Owens Primary, suspect arrested following search

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE :
The lock-down at Bessie E. Owens Primary School has been lifted and a suspect is in custody, according to BPD.

Officials say the lock-down was lifted around 9:15 a.m. following the arrest of the suspect who reportedly had outstanding felony warrants.

The search for a suspect believed to be armed in the area of South King Street and Potomac Avenue has prompted a lock-down at Bessie E. Owens Primary School, according to BPD.

BPD says the suspect is at large following a domestic violence incident and is believed to be armed with a firearm.

Bakersfield police are reportedly looking for the suspect in a cemetery.
