BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Boys and Girls Club of Kern County is looking to flip the switch on saving energy this morning. That's why they're unveiling a brand new roof and solar power system.
According to the Boys and Girls Club, the new roof and solar system were donated to the Armstrong Youth Center by Aera Energy, a longtime partner with the club.
Officials say the new 74-kilowatt solar system will save the club approximately $60,000 a year in energy costs.
The unveiling will took place this morning at 8 a.m. at the Armstrong Youth Center on Niles Street.
