BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bike Arvin, a full-service repair shop, has announced it will close its doors next month.

In a news release, the shop said it will officially close September 29 but it is actively looking for donations and sponsors to help keep the non-profit open for the community.

In addition, Bike Arvin said that it is searching for a place that could be open once a week to help house its equipment and displays.

"Bike Arvin is the only bike shop within the South Kern area, connecting residents with opportunities and options for active transportation," the release said. "Bike Arvin has been a force for increasing active transportation in South Kern communities including Arvin, Lamont, Weedpatch, and even up to unincorporated neighborhoods in Bakersfield."
