BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It's an interactive map to help you have the funnest and safest Halloween possible.

The online app Nextdoor will show you which of your neighbors plan to hand out candy, handing out allergy-free candy, host a haunted house or will have their lights off for Halloween. To register you home as one of those four options go to Nextdoor.com, then click either in the top right corner on the Treat Map icon or the top left corner on the Treat Map category under Neighborhood.

Nextdoor is an online neighborhood watch social media site geared towards allowing neighbors to talk among themselves about problems, event and other concerns or topics happening in their immediate neighborhood.

With the Treat Map you can see if your neighborhood will give out candy this year, or if there is a better neighborhood to talk your children to. It is also to encourage a safe Halloween for families to better enjoy the holiday.

Nextdoor has partnered this Halloween with Target.com to help families find discounts on Halloween costumes and candy this year. For more information about Nextdoor or to register your home, visit their website.
