SHAFTER, Calif. — Incoming freshmen in Shafter can take advantage of Bakersfield College's 'Early College' program.
This week, BC introduced Shafter High School students to the program which will offer various general education and CTE courses during school hours. The goal is to provide students an early start on their college degree or certificate.
BC's Director of Rural Initiatives, Abel Guzman, says,
This partnership has allowed us to expand our educational opportunities and student services in Shafter. The Early College program is the next project that will level the playing field for students.
