Bakersfield Good Samaritan nominated as finalist for Medal of Honor Society Citizen Honors Award

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield's Blaine Hodge, also known as the Good Samaritan that saved a woman from a knife-wielding man inside of a Starbucks, is one of five finalists for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society Citizen Honors Award.

This Medal of Honor program is one that recognizes the heroism and selfless service of Americans.

In commemoration of National Medal of Honor Day, the Medal of Honor Recipients will recognize these finalists at a March 25 ceremony at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C.
