(UPDATE 12/2): The California Highway Patrol Bakersfield division said it has had to cancel to Start Smart originally scheduled for next week. CHP said it will resume Start Smart once Kern County is moved back to the red tier.
The California Highway Patrol Bakersfield division said next week it will host another Start Smart teen driving course to help teach new drivers safe driving habits.
Start Smart is a free class offered to current and prospective teenage drivers, and their parents or guardians. The two-hour, no-cost class discusses important issues such as:
- Safe driving habits
- Consequences of a poor choice behind the wheel
- Tips on how to avoid a collision
Parents and teens will be more aware, more educated, and better prepared to handle the stress of a new driver.
The class is set for Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m.
