HANFORD, Calif. (KERO) — The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District has issued an air quality alert for the valley portion of Kern County.
On Wednesday afternoon the district issued the warning as a result of high winds blowing dust into the air. The alert will be in effect until Thursday at 8 a.m.
According to the district, "exposure to particle pollution can cause serious health problems" and residents should use caution when venturing outside.
