Aera Energy LLC announced the next steps in the implementation of an organizational redesign called “Next Aera” on October 26.
“This is an opportunity for us to reimagine our work – something we would be doing regardless of the external business environment," said Christina Sistrunk, Aera president and CEO. “This is a big undertaking that touches nearly every piece of what we do and how we do it, and will ultimately help us to evolve as a company.”
In shaping Next Aera, changes to the organizational structure were made, resulting in a reduction of Aera’s workforce and the elimination of 167 positions in the areas of management, administration, technical and other positions. A voluntary severance program helped reduce the number of involuntary separations to 40.
In keeping with the company’s commitment to treating its people with care and respect, Aera provided a benefits package to all transitioning employees which included a severance plan and professional outplacement services.
