According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake hit Southern California just before 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
The earthquake hit about 7 miles from Lamont and about 12 miles from Bakersfield.
It registered at a depth of about 7.7 miles.
There are no reports of any injuries or damage caused by the quake.
