The Tehachapi Police Department is investigating a burglary that happened at a gun store on East F Street where 21 firearms were stolen.

According to officials, Monday morning a person who passed by Southern Shooters Supply spotted a broken window. Police responded shortly after and found that the business had been burglarized.

During TPD's investigation, authorities discovered that 21 guns were stolen from inside the store. No ammunition was stolen.

The Tehachapi Police Department said that it has been actively working with law enforcement agencies in Central California as well as federal authorities in an attempt to solve the burglary and locate the stolen property. Several of the stolen firearms have been recovered in Central California and potential suspects in that area are currently being investigated.

Southern Shooters Supply told 23ABC that public safety is their main concern and they've worked by the books for the past 30 years that that they've been in business.

Officials also said that the investigation does not indicate any local ties or suggest any of the stolen guns have stayed in the Tehachapi area.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
