The 2018 Kern County Fair numbers have been released!
The fair saw an overall increase in carnival sales, concessions, and silent auction donations. Over 416,000 people attended this year's fair. Carnival sales were up by 6% while concessions sales were up by 4%. Silent auction sales saw a 4% increase, raising almost $3 million.
The Kern County Fair also helped the community. Five thousand pints of blood were donated to the Houchin Blood Bank through their "Pint for a Pass" program. 54 cans of food, or 118 pounds, were also collected during the fair's "Feed the Need" collection day. One buyer who bought animals from junior exhibitors during the auction donated more than 100,000 lbs. of meat to the Community Action Partnership of Kern.
