WASCO, Calif. — Kern County Public Health addressed the growing number of cases at the Primex Farms in Wasco.
Officials say they are trying to work with a lot of those who work in the fields and help them follow the best practices.
"We work with a number of employers to help them with best practices and draw those circles around cases and contacts to help identify which staff may need to quarantine at home and not come to work as well as how we can support them and their staff that are indeed positive patients," said Kim Hernandez of Public Health.
Hernandez went on to add that they are with employers throughout the community in order to support them through this difficult time and help them with navigating their employees safely back to work, as well as continue protecting them.
A couple of weeks ago, around 50 workers had tested positive for COVID-19.
Those cases rose to more than 70 last week.
