BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield child star Evan Whitten boasts an impressive resume for a 10-year-old, starring in roles since the age of seven.

Growing up in Bakersfield, Evan had a normal happy childhood with two younger brothers and acting on the small stage.

Beginning at the age of seven, Evan has had to opportunity to star in commercials, hit shows as well as blockbuster movies.

To name a few, his first on-screen role was Grayson on Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn a Nickelodeon T.V. series.

One of his favorite roles was across Rami Malek as Young Elliot in Mr. Robot.

At such a young age Evan has conquered a dream many still have, he's become a successful actor and his parents couldn't be prouder.

Some can only imagine what it takes to prepare for an acting role or know how much preparation goes into the role one is trying to portray.

I was curious as to what that would look like.

Specifically, I asked about his preparation for the role in the new hit show Next, coming out in the fall.

"That also connects to one of the reasons why I love acting because one of the reasons why I love acting is just, you know, when you get into character, we call it getting into the character's shoes. You kind of just be who the character is, learn how he feels and what his life is, who he is and what he's been through and you know, you just act out all of that, and then, that just sort of interests me."

Outside of acting, Evan is quite a talented writer. His latest project, Super Brothers came to fruition before he began to act. Turns out, he has written a few other books as well. Finishing Super Brothers is his latest goal, he also hopes to make movies one day.

"Yeah, every single book I make, I kind of want to turn into a movie. Especially Super Brothers, I definitely want that to turn into a movie."

He plans to star alongside his two brothers once he turns his book into a movie.

As far as what's next, Evan looks forward to his role as Charlie in the upcoming movie Mona Lisa and The Blood Moon, about a girl with unusual powers who escapes from a mental asylum and tries to make it in New Orleans.
