BAKERSFIELD, CA. — Bakersfield construction company, JTS Construction, prides itself on being a workplace for long tenure employees and now they are looking to add to their team.
“JTS has been in Bakersfield for 20 years. Our company rewards people on longevity and loyalty so the longer you are employed with us the more reward you get," said Season Suko, Human Resources for JTS Construction.
The company's immediate needs include two licensed journeymen electricians, one HVAC technician, and experienced plasters. However, they are accepting applications for all their trade positions too.
“We’re always accepting applications for the other trades we employ," said Suko. "Welders, framers, finish carpenters, commercial roofers, door hangers, hardware installers, ceiling applicators, plumbers, and shippers."
The construction company focuses on building and repairing schools across the state.
Even with high demand, they say they haven’t felt the trade shortage, but want to make sure they stay ahead of the curve by hiring.
“We do have turn over and people sick here and there so it's important if you're available for work, apply with us," said Suko.
If you’re interested in applying, the company says you can contact them directly or apply through their indeed job listing.
“Typically we are only looking at applicants who have one year or more experience in their specific trade.. If they don't have that experience, they should still apply," said Suko.
