LEBEC, Calif. — Tejon Ranch is growing. And that means new job across the companies inside their commerce center. There's more than 20 million square feet of commercial and industrial space that makes up the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center. The jobs available during Wednesday job fair range as widely as types of company to types of position.
Tejon Ranch's vice president of communications, Barry Zoeller, said the commerce center has some of the top performing businesses in the country. "One of the top 5 performing Starbucks in the nation. It's home to distribution centers, it's home to the outlets, it's home to food stores, gasoline areas, between four thousand and five thousand jobs."
Zoeller continued saying a hundred thousand vehicles a day drive by Tejon Ranch on the 5 Freeway, twenty thousand of which stop in the commerce center.
"That's why these jobs are so important," said Zoeller, "because they really are to a certain extent ambassadors of Kern County."
The Fort Tejon Commerce Center is teaming up with Job Fest Kern County to hire some of those new ambassadors or employees for the center. Josh Conner with Job Fest said there's about 15 companies hiring from entry level to management positions, from hospitality and food service to warehouse and distribution.
