BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Health Department announced Thursday morning that the first test for the coronavirus in Kern County came back negative.
In a public news briefing, Michelle Corson of public health announced they completed testing for one of the four potential patients and the test results were negative. They are still conducting testing for the three other potential cornavirus patients.
The testing is being conducted by the state.
Four more patients are being monitored by public health.
On Wednesday the first coronavirus-related death in California was announce. Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency.
