Bakersfield Barber College taking preventative measures amid coronavirus concerns

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield Barber College, a local institution dedicated to educating barber graduates since 1991, has issued guidelines amid concerns over the coronavirus.

The college issued the following statement in regards to new guidelines:

We have taken the measure to refuse service to anyone who appears to have symptoms. We also have sanitized our whole school and will continue to do so.

They said the received from the Bureau of Post-Secondary Education (who govern the Board of Barbering & Cosmetology) information regarding the Coronavirus. As a result, the college had a meeting about taking a proactive measure on preventing the virus from spreading.

During the meeting, the college discussed the recommended steps by the CDPH to encourage people who are sick to stay at home and seek medical attention and to encourage handwashing by students and staff and use hand sanitizer.
