Several people are in custody following a high-speed chase that ended in Oildale Sunday morning.
According the to Bakersfield Police, the chase was the result of what officials believe is a double carjacking that happened between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.
The first carjacking happened around 3:00 a.m. when three suspects carjacked a couple at gunpoint, at Tevis Park in southwest Bakersfield.
Officers said the couple did not sustain any significant injuries, however the suspects drove away in their 2015 Ford Focus.
One hour later, police officers received a call of a second carjacking reported on Union Ave. near Pacheco Rd. where a suspect stole a red Ford Mustang.
When officers arrived at the carjacking on Union Avenue, they spotted the stolen Ford Focus.
The three suspects in the stolen Ford Focus then led police on a chase on the northbound 99 with speeds reaching between 100 and 130 miles per hour.
The suspects eventually exited the 99 Freeway at Buck Owens Blvd.
Moments later they crashed the vehicle at Buck Owens Blvd. and Airport Dr., then fled.
Following a short foot pursuit, all three suspects were apprehended and taken into custody.
An adult male and two male juveniles were taken into custody.
Police said they found two guns inside the stolen vehicle.
Police believe the two carjackings are connected and are still searching for the red Mustang with a white stripe and the suspect who stole it.
