BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — Two people were killed Saturday night after a shooting at a South Bakersfield Vagabond Inn, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
BPD said around 11:05 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the Vagabond Inn at 6501 Colony Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a motel room. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, detectives identified a suspect and arrested Mario Velasquez, 25, of Bakersfield, for two counts of murder.
The investigation is on-going.
