Bakersfield Police are investigating after a shooting in southeast Bakersfield left one man dead.

According to BPD officers responded to South Hayes street just south of the 58 for reports of a shooting just before 11 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived a man was found on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared dead at the scene and the Robbery/homicide unit has assumed the investigation.

There is no suspect information at this time.
