BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — In a letter, the superintendent of the Lakeside Union School District announced that a board member had resigned after being arrested for alleged misconduct with a minor.
Superintendent Ty Bryson said in the letter that the board member, later identified in a Kern County Sheriff's Office arrest log as Travis Fugitt, resigned on Tuesday, February 9th. He said that the matter was being investigated by the KCSO, but no formal charges have been filed.
Fugitt is a farmer in Bakersfield.
"At this point, our understanding is that no alleged victim or victims were a student of the District," said Bryson in the letter. "The Safety and wellbeing of our students, and our community youth in general, are among the District's highest priorities."
