BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department said it is providing extra patrol units at The Marketplace Friday evening amid social media rumors of protests and riots.
BPD said it has received multiple calls regarding social media posts regarding potential protests or riots at The Marketplace. So far, BPD said it has not found any credibility to those posts. However out of an abundance of caution, BPD is sending extra patrol units and resources to the area.
BPD is asking if anyone sees any criminal activity, to report it at (661) 327-7111.
