BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Board of Supervisors have received WARN letters announcing layoffs and furloughs from several more Kern County businesses.
Western Dental & Orthodontics said it will be temporarily furloughing employees at the following locations:
- 4409 Ming Avenue
- 4401 Ming Avenue
- 730 Woolomes Avenue
- 1201 24th Street
- 3401 Coffee Road
Western Dental said these furloughs will impact over 80 employees throughout Kern County. Western Dental added that it remains open for dental emergencies at the office at 4401 Ming Ave. in Bakersfield and will take special care to protect patients and employees.
Golden State drilling said it is issuing a mass layoff due to the impact of the coronavirus. According to the WARN letter this mass layoff will impact employees at the location at 3500 Fruitvale Avenue.Golden State Drilling said 130 employees will be impacted.
Finish Line Inc. announced that with Macy's Inc.'s decision to close its doors, Finish Line operations have ceased within Macy's department stores. The Finish Line Valley Plaza location has also been forced to cease operations. The company said 30 employees have been laid off as a result of the closures.
