Universal Studios has extended closures through May 31 in response to rising COVID-19 concerns.

Both Universal Hollywood and Orlando as well as Universal CityWalk at both locations and the Universal Orlando Resort have temporarily closed for the duration of this time.

The company said team members will continue to be paid through April 19, but as the company enters a prolonged closure period, they will take additional measures.

Beginning April 20, nearly all team members will be paid at 80% of their pay and will be asked to adjust their work accordingly. A small group of team members will be asked to continue working at 100% and will continue to be paid at that level.

The company also made the decision that to furlough part-time hourly workers beginning May 3. During that time, it will fully cover the cost of benefit plans for those team members who have them.
