BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Wonderful Company will be donating 1.6 million Halos mandarins to Central Valley hospitals, schools and food banks on Wednesday. Those in need, including Kern County residents and those working on the frontlines, will have access to the locally grown citrus as Halos are full of Vitamin C.

The donation is part of The Wonderful Company’s ongoing efforts to support the communities of the Central Valley, where thousands of its employees live and work.

Here are the organizations receiving the donations: Adventist Health, Delano Regional Medical Center, Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, Mercy Southwest, Mercy Downtown, Valley Children's Hospital, Kern Medical, the Kern County School District, Central California Food Bank and Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK).

Along with Vitamin C, Halos are sweet, with no added sugar, free of common allergens (gluten, peanuts, dyes), a good source of fiber and loved by both kids and grown-ups alike. They also provide a natural energy boost.
