FRESNO, Calif. — The Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno today released new protective measures in response to COVID-19.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno is implementing new protective measures including closing all Catholic schools and continuing distance learning Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All catholic schools are closed are closed but distance learning will continue Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The closure of all churches has been extended for an intermediate amount of time.

The release also includes information about what ceremonies should be postponed.

Funerals should be rescheduled.

Priests should only visit sick parishioners if there is a direct need.

Only emergency baptisms are allowed.

Confirmations will be rescheduled.

Weddings should be postponed.

Quinceañeras should be postponed until the protective measures are lifted.
