RIVERSIDE, Calif. — No gatherings of any number are allowed in Riverside County, unless they are family members that reside in the same home, according to the Riverside County Health Officer Cameron Kaiser.

In a Saturday press release, Doctor Kaiser is also ordering people to wear a "face covering" when a resident leaves their home, including essential workers.

“While more and more Riverside County residents are getting COVID-19, not everybody’s getting the message,” Dr. Kaiser is quoted saying in the release. “It started with staying home, social distance and covering your face. But now we change from saying that you should to saying that you must.”

Under this order, Kaiser says "law enforcement agencies throughout the county have the authority to enforce these orders as they deem necessary."

As of Saturday, Riverside health officials have reported 665 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 18 deaths and 60 recoveries.

The order runs through April 30th.
