Italy coronavirus death toll lowest in nearly a month

Italy's death toll due to the coronavirus is the lowest it's been in nearly a month, according to the Civil Protection Agency.

There were 482 deaths reported in Italy over the last 24 hours, ABC News reports. This marks the first time since March 19 that the figure was below 500.

The total number of fatalities in the country is now 23,227, according to the agency. ABC News reports there were 3,491 new cases, putting the total number of cases, including active, deceased and cured, at 175,925.

ABC News reports the number of patients in hospital care again declined.
