Inmate at North Kern State Prison tests positive for coronavirus

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Officials with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation have confirmed the first case of COVID-19 at the North Kern State Prison in Delano.

At this time, eight inmates in the state have tested positive for coronavirus. Six tested positive in the state prison in Lancaster and another in Chino.

According to the CDCR's website, 27 employees have tested positive for the virus, including two at the Wasco State Prison.
