Gov. Newsom issues exec. order to stop the transfer, intake of inmates

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Today Gov. Newsom issued an executive order to the California Secretary of Correction to stop the intake and/or transfer of inmates and youth into California prisons and correctional facilities.

His executive order comes after the growing concerns of COVID-19 and how fast it has been spreading.

This executive order is yet another way the governor is trying to slow the spread of coronavirus.
