CALIFORNIA HIT A SOMBER NEW RECORD THURSDAY AS GOV. GAVIN NEWSOM ANNOUNCED THE HIGHEST REPORTED COVID-19 RELATED DEATHS REPORTED IN A SINGLE DAY. — California hit a somber new record Thursday as Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the highest reported COVID-19 related deaths reported in a single day.
According to Newsom, the state reported 157 deaths Thursday, bringing the state's total to 8,027.
The data announced Thursday is collected from Wednesday totals.
California surpassed New York state Wednesday when it reported a record number of coronavirus cases, topping 409,000 cases total.
