BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Officials with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation have confirmed an employee at North Kern State prison has tested positive for COVID-19 in Delano.
This is the first case among employees at the prison, according to the CDCR's website, bringing the total number of Kern prison employees with coronavirus up to four.
Three employees who tested positive at Wasco State Prison, and a total of 55 employees across the state, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
An inmate at North Kern State Prison has also tested positive, according to the CDCR.
