For the third day in a row, another 200 cases of COVID-19 in Kern County were reported Friday morning and eight more deaths attributed to the disease. Officials reporting 216 new cases bringing the total to more than 6,200.

The death toll is now just below 100, with 97.

Public health has reported nearly 4,100 residents have fully recovered.

The number of people who've tested negative sits just below 74,700. That comes in at just under 92 percent of all tests.

Officials added that testing sites are reporting a longer turn around time so if you're waiting on results that could be why.
