BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) established a weekday drive-through food distributions in Bakersfield then expanded to other county communities to help families who have been impacted by COVID-19. The Food Bank has had to build additional food boxes for each event to reach more families in crisis.

As their resources are limited with donations from typical sources such as grocery store partners decreasing during this time, CAPK is asking for assistance from the community.

The CAPK Food Bank can turn every donated dollar it receives into seven pounds of food for those in need. Online donations are a quick and easy way to help. Just go to capk.org, click on the “Donate Now” button and give what you can. If you prefer to mail your donation, please indicate “Food Bank Donation” on the memo line and mail to:

Thank you for any support you can share with our clients and partners in these challenging times.

CAPK operates Kern County’s central Food Bank. In 2019, the Food Bank delivered more than 20 million pounds of food to families with the help of over 150 partner food pantries and distribution sites throughout Kern County.
