U-S CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION MANDATED MASKS FOR ITS WORKFORCE WITHIN THE LAST WEEK,

Wearing appropriate PPE, most importantly, masks, has now been made a mandated requirement for all U.S. border patrol agents at all U.S. checkpoints.

As of today, there have been 346 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the organization, with three unfortunately losing their lives, and 65 of those cases being right here in California.

Agents are required to wear protective gear when processing migrants and any time they are in the field and unable to maintain adequate social distancing practices.

CBP union representatives believe the mandate is not enough to support the effort of managing this virus and putting an end to the pandemic.

Representatives have stated there is a lack of testing employees, along with a lack of medical screenings for travelers and insufficient tracing for the virus.
