BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield City School District posted on Facebook Tuesday it will hold a virtual graduation for eighth graders at the end of the month.
According to the post, BCSD students will be honored in a graduation video that will be posted on the district's Facebook and YouTube accounts the week of May 25.
The post said parents can expect more information to come soon.
The announcement comes a day after the Kern High School District Board of Trustees suggested that staff offer alternatives to a live graduation ceremony.
It has been decided that the board will reconvene at a later date to decide on what can be done to give graduates the ceremony they deserve.
