BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — On Monday, health officials and Governor Gavin Newsom announced the lifting of the regional stay-at-home-order, saying counties would return to a colored tier system. Tuesday morning, Assemblyman Vince Fong joined 23ABC Live to discuss this decision.

"The governor has not been transparent with the data he is using to make shutdown decisions that have significantly upended the lives of so many people," Fong said in a release Monday.

As the state adjusts to these changes, many are wondering how they were made. While the governor announced all the regions in the state had an ICU capacity projected above 15%, there was little explanation as to where state officials are getting these numbers. Given that in the previous stay-at-home order areas, like the San Joaquin Valley, were almost always projected below 15%, most want to know where these projections are coming from.

"We are seeing glaring inconsistencies about what methodology he is using and he continues to move the goal post in a manner that defies logic. Californians are fed up with being kept in the dark for almost 11 months with no indication that this Governor will be truly transparent to the public whom he ostensibly serves."
