7 medical crew members test positive for COVID-19 on USNS Mercy

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — It has been confirmed, that as of Monday seven medical crew staff on the navy hospital ship USNS Mercy have not tested positive for coronavirus.

The ship has been docked in the port of Los Angeles since late march to help L.A. area hospitals with the COVID-19 response.

The Navy has confiemed the seven crew memebers positive for COVID-19 have been isolated off the ship.

"The ship is following protocols and taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of all crewmwmeners and patitnst on baord. This will not affect the ability for Mercy to receive patients at this time."
