A 101-year-old Italian man has recovered from COVID-19, according to Italian news agency ANSA.

The man, only identified as Mr. P, has lived through several pandemics in his lifetime. Last week, he tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized in the city of Rimini, ANSA reports.

After a few days of hospitalization, Mr. P overcame the deadly disease that has shown to be most lethal to individuals above the age of 65.

Mr. P is nearly 40 years older than that measure and the deputy mayor of Rimini, Gloria Lisi, took notice.

"He made it. Mr. P. made it," ANSA quotes Lisi stating.

According to ANSA, Mr. P returned to his home with his family.
