A crash occurred between a semi truck and car killing at least one person.

UPDATE (September 13, 2017 8:30 am ):
Officials say the driver was a 20-year-old male from Bakersfield who died at the scene. We do not know the identity at this time. There was a male passenger, also 20 years old, who was taken to KMC with unknown injuries.
The driver of the semi truck was 35 years old and taken to Delano Regional with minor injuries.
Officers on the scene say a big rig was going south on Driver Road around 55 mph. This is when a car pulled up to the stop sign at Pond Road.
The driver of the car reportedly came to a complete stop before it pulled into the path of the big rig. Officers say the intersection is a two-way stop sign only, so the cars driving on Driver Road will not stop.
This is now the 46th fatality investigated by CHP on our local roads.
