(KERO) — A new report says that a lack of increase in spending in agricultural research could threaten the nation's agricultural productivity.

The study says there's a particular need for public research in crop breeding, crop protection, climate change, animal health, and more.

Funding in the private sector has increased while public spending has remained flat. According to the report that private research tends to focus on more narrow topics.
