One of the most highly anticipated family movies of the year, "Finding Dory," is dominating the box office with a record opening for an animated film. Donna Ruko has five things you didn't know about Dory and her swimming buddy, Nemo, that are sure to impress both your kids, and friends!
1. Nemo’s First Movie
Nemo actually first appeared in the Pixar movie "Monster's Inc." You heard right, and you're seeing right. That's sully being handed a stuffed Nemo toy 2 years before "Finding Nemo," swam its way into theaters!
2. “Finding Nemo” Breaks Records
As of its release, "Finding Nemo" was the highest grossing G-rated movie of all time. It’s the highest-selling DVD of all-time, too. More than 40 million copies sold! No wonder there's a sequel!
3. "Finding Dory" Rating
"Finding Dory" is rated PG due to "mild thematic elements." In fact, this is the first time a Pixar sequel has a different rating than the original movie. Hopefully dory isn't too upset.
4. Why Ellen DeGeneres was Cast
Seems like a no-brainer now, but director Andrew Stanton says he heard Ellen, quote, "change the subject five times before finishing one sentence" on her show. Yeah, sounds like Dory.
5. Dory is Team USA
"Finding Dory" has teamed up with USA Swimming to show non-swimmers, and their parents, why swimming is the #funnestsport.
