BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The second annual Kern Margarita Championship will have a different look this year, as it takes things online.

The annual event, benefiting the Josh Farler Foundation, will have to do things virtually this year due to COVID-19.

But, fans of margaritas can still help decide the best in town.

Fans are encouraged to try different margaritas from local restaurants and head toKernMargarita.com to vote for their favorite.

Organizers said this year, they have even more restaurants taking part this year due to the fact that they've added the option for people to add whichever restaurant they like.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Josh Farler Foundation, which helps cancer patients going through their battles. Organizers of the Kern Margarita Challenge said these proceeds go a long way to help with food and transportation for patients, especially children who have to travel out of town to receive treatment.

To vote for your favorite margarita all you have to do is get your favorite margarita, snap a selfie, and then vote online. Organizers will reveal the winner live on Saturday.

Fans have until Aug. 22 to vote for their favorite margaritas.
